Sampling method and study design: The 1992 General Social Survey on Time Use (GSS-7) was carried out by Statistics Canada on a sample representative of the non-institutionalized population aged 15 and above of Canada's ten provinces. The survey was conducted over the telephone over a 12-month period spanning the year 1992 (to capture seasonal variations). One respondent aged 15 and above was randomly selected in each surveyed household. Respondents provided 24h diaries of their prior day activities starting at 4:00 a.m.
Sample size: 9,815 diarists
Response rate: The response rate is 76.8%.
Weighting procedures: Weights correct for non-random non-contact and refusal.
